MuffinTaffin is a bakery located in Budva, Montenegro, that I opened during my fifth year of living in the country. At the time there were very few high-quality local pastry shops, so the business was created to fill that gap. I later brought my parents to Montenegro, and they now run the place together.
In addition to the retail point of sale, the business includes a full production workshop equipped with professional-grade machinery for baking and pastry preparation. Operations have become increasingly difficult since 2022 due to the ongoing war and a sharp decline in local purchasing power. Even though tourist numbers have partially recovered after the COVID period and the start of the conflict, the actual profitability of that tourist flow remains significantly lower than in pre-COVID or even COVID years, making the long-term outlook uncertain.
